Who we are

History

The HARO brand was founded in GENEVA in 1947 by Mr HABIB ROBERT, hence the name of the brand.

The inventor of the first machines and the brilliant engineer Georges GROBET, then professor at the Ecole d'Ingénieurs de GENEVE (EIG).
During the war, he invented the first manual sharpening machine equipped with a bridge that allowed the passage of the cross slide under the longitudinal slide thus ensuring a very high precision guidance.

Then the acronym HARO appeared after the creation of the company by Robert HABIB.

HARO machines were manufactured under licence in Spain and France (Annemasse).
More than 3,500 machines have been delivered to the 5 continents and in many sectors of activity.

Among these, some machines have been specially designed and developed on the basis of special criteria imposed by our customers in order to meet the specific needs of their manufacturing.
